Create a New Page

Quickly Creating a Page

You can create a new page quickly by selecting New Page from the Site Actions menu. The type of page this action creates and the location of the page depend on the type of SharePoint site you use. If the site is a Team site, the page is a wiki page located in the Site Pages library. If it is a publishing site, the page is a publishing page located in the Pages library.

Creating Specific Page Types in Specific Locations

You can control the type of a new page and its location as follows:

  1. Select Site Actions|More Options...
  2. The Create dialog opens. Select Page from the Filter By section.
  3. The Create dialog displays the available page types for your site. Select the type of page you want to create.
  4. Complete the process as appropriate for the page type you selected.
