Add a Web Part to a Page

You can add a Web Part to a page from the Insert tab of the Editing Tools ribbon. Doing so exands the ribbon to show the Web Parts available on your site. This image shows what you see if you insert a Web Part to a page in a Team Site on SharePoint Server 2010 Enterprise Edition.

To add a Web Part to a page:

  1. Place the cursor at the location where you want the Web Part
  2. Select the Insert tab on the Editing Tools ribbon
  3. Select the category of the desired Web Part from the Categories pane
  4. Select the desired Web Part
  5. Click Add

Once the Web Part is on the page you can configure it.
